PEDIATRIC SURGERY

The team of pediatric surgeons operates on premature babies, newborns, infants, children, and adolescents up to the age of 18. We believe that pediatric surgery is the most rewarding field in medicine and that “our children” should receive the best medical care available. To make the hospital stay easier for our young and adolescent patients, two kindergarten teachers work in the pediatric surgery department, working with various professional groups to relieve the burden on families during their child’s stay in hospital.

Our ward has a well-equipped playroom, and our kindergarten teachers look after patients in the playroom or at their bedsides, as required.

They offer creative ideas and create a pleasant atmosphere for the child. This makes everyday life in the clinic more enjoyable. This has a positive effect on the recovery process.

Lessons in the hospital take place on school days in the morning. The content and duration of the lessons are tailored to your child’s needs.

PARENT INFORMATION

General Rules for the Pediatric Surgery Outpatient Clinic

Number of Visits/Visitors:

– In principle, there is no limit on the number of visitors.
– Two visitors are permitted per patient at any one time.

Special Regulations

– In certain cases, there may be restrictions or special regulations regarding visiting hours or the number of visitors.

Visiting Hours on the General Ward:

Children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years are cared for and supervised on the pediatric surgery ward. All rooms on the ward are equipped for the regular accommodation of accompanying parents.

Since you, as parents and/or guardians, are an important partner in the children’s treatment, there are no set visiting hours for you; you can visit your child at any time. We simply ask that you be mindful that, for data protection and privacy reasons, it may sometimes be necessary for you to briefly leave the room or wait in the designated waiting area (discussions with other patients and their families, nursing care for other patients, doctor’s rounds, etc.). Out of consideration for other patients and their families, we ask that you ensure that there are not too many visitors in the patient’s room at the same time.

All other persons may visit your child between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Telephone availability:

Parents are welcome to inquire about their child’s well-being around the clock by calling the nursing control center at +43 512-504-22531.

Should you and your child wish to visit our ward as part of the preparation for a planned stay, you are welcome to do so after a short advance notice.
